Srijanee Banerjee
Srijanee Banerjee is an accomplished sitarist born into a musically gifted family, whose journey with the instrument began in early childhood under the tutelage of her father, Shri Chandan Banerjee, and blossomed through advanced guidance from Late Pandit Ravi Sen and Dr Niladri Sen. In 2014, she joined the esteemed ITC Sangeet Research Academy, where she is now a Senior Scholar under Guru Pandit Partha Chatterjee. Academically, she holds an M.A. in Modern History from the University of Calcutta, graduating first class first. Srijanee has been recognised in numerous music competitions, including the Doverlane Music Competition, and has received prestigious awards such as "Sitar Kesari" from the Gokul Nag Memorial Foundation and the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She has performed at leading music festivals and cultural events, including Swar Mangesh Festival (Goa), the 100th Birth Centenary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Bangladesh), the inauguration of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, and ITC Sangeet Sammelan 2023, and performs internationally as part of the all-female ensemble Female Affairs across India, Germany, Spain, and Japan.
