This on-demand music course is for children (7 year and above), beginners and music enthusiasts interested in playing Indian music/music using the piano/keyboard.

This is perfect for learners with some music experience. However, we assume no prior knowledge and will cover all the basics to get you to playing music on the piano/keyboard.

The course will cover the basics of Indian Raga music, including its origins and history. We will focus on one raga — Raga Bhimpalasi and how to play it on the keyboard through an innovative approach.

It will include video lessons, practice exercises and preparation for your performance.

This course can be accessed via web login on most common devices, platforms, and apps, including iPad, Android tablets, and PCs.

All you need to take this course is:

• A device to view the video lessons. You can do this on your desktop, laptop, tablet or even your phone.
• A keyboard or piano to practice on. You can even begin on your iPad!
• A fair or strong internet connection so you can watch the videos, the practice exercises and play along.

For the best learning experience, and to make effective progress you should have access to a piano or keyboard. You can also use a piano app.

We have found that Garage band works effectively and can be customised to sound like a piano.

Practice depends on the individual, but we do recommended that you practice for at least 10 minutes a day.

Practicing by repeating something over again is still the best way to improve, and that’s as true of learning to play music as it is anything else.

Our course offers on-demand and self-paced learning. The duration of the course varies based on the time you allocate to it, as well as your unique learning style and preferences.

However, we do recommend that you maintain a regular learning and practice schedule to reach the finish!

This course is for students just starting to learn music and does not teach the skill of reading sheet music. From our experience, our students have learned through following the teacher with the ‘follow the fingers’ on-screen technique. This coupled together with practice exercises means that learners can make great progress and improve their memory skills along the way.

However, we do provide western notation for the musical pieces.
