Indrani Mukherjee is a Kolkata-based vocalist who performs khayal in the Kirana-Rampur style and thumri in Purab Ang, known for its grace and delicate tonal embellishments. Her training emphasises the literature behind bandishes, creating an aesthetic blend of lyrics, tala, and laya that fully expresses a raga's emotion.

A performer at the Darbar Festival, Indrani began her musical journey under her mother, aunt, and grandfather, Sanjib Banerjee, before training under Pandit Arun Bhaduri. A scholar of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, she has taught students of all levels for many years, including online courses reaching learners globally.

What Our Vocal Students Are Saying

Indraniji's patience and non-judgemental encouragement helps build confidence. She is an excellent teacher and creates a personal connection required to establish the guru-disciple relationship. The homework and feedback are extremely valuable... helped me make strides on swar gyaan and swar sthaan.
