MEET YOUR TEACHER

Nirmalya Roy is a versatile vocalist trained in classical music under Prof. Sunirmal Bhattacharya and Khayal under the late Govinda Prasad Debnath, later becoming a scholar at the Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, under Pandit Arun Bhaduri. A Sangeet Visharad, he has won top honours across Khayal and ghazal competitions and received a National Scholarship from the Indian government.

Associated with Zee-TV as composer and singer, Nirmalya has performed extensively across India, the USA, and Canada, including with Pt. Ravi Shankar at the Hollywood Bowl. He has lent his voice to Bollywood and Bengali films, released several albums, and taught as visiting faculty at the University of Illinois.
